A very good starting point when deciding how the Ffatri Fenter can help is to write up a business plan.

To make things as easy as possible, the coordinator can help you put it together. Youíre also welcome to do this by yourself if you want.

The taster business plan is very effective:

• When trying to turn your idea into reality.
• When trying to work out if your idea has the potential to make money.
• To ensure that youíve thought of all aspects of the business before you start.

Marketing support and financial contributions

• Help to develop a marketing plan.
• Help to design marketing materials.
• Contributions towards the cost.

Specialist advice in every field

If you would like to discuss any aspect of the business in more detail, we can:

• Pay for the time of a person who has established a similar business in another area to talk to you.
• Contribute to the cost of an expert i.e. solicitor / accountant.
• Put you in touch with other useful contacts e.g. the local Inland Revenue.

Training

If you need training in relation to your business idea, the Ffatri Fenter can contribute towards the cost.

Market research and indentifying opportunities

• We have a team of specialists that can help you plan and implement market research.
• If we think a joint venture would be beneficial between two clients, we will put you in touch with each other.
• The Ffatri Fenter team are always coming across new ideas with great potential.

If you need financial support to invest in equipment / stock etc before you can get started, the Ffatri Fenter can help you with a small interest free loan.

We get in contact with Flexible Support for Business when a client is ready to develop the business the next stage / to a more full time post. They offer a further one to one service and a Start up Grant.

The Ffatri Fenter work closely with Young Enterprise on their Company Programme (6th form pupils) and their Graduate Programme (students) so that we can add value to the services offered to people within these particular sectors.

If you have graduated within the last 3 years, G2E can contribute towards the support provided by us by fining a professional business person to act as your mentor, free of charge.

The Princes Trust is recognised for its work with people aged 18-30. One of the main techniques they use is their 'Buddy Workshops', which is a 1 day programme to help people develop their understanding of starting a business.

If you are starting a business in the arts sector, we will work with Cultural Enterprise who specialise in the field. They also have a database of mentors who can help you.

KEF (Knowledge Exploitation Fund) - www.kef-wales.org.uk
We will work with KEF when clients who have graduated within the last 3 years are setting up in a business related to their degree. A scholarship can be won to support the client through the first 9 months of business.
